(Reuters) – Russia will do everything possible to make sure its creditors receive their money, Finance Minister Anton Siluanov said on Thursday, TASS news agency reported.

Siluanov said Russian Railways (RZhD) was not allowed to pay dollars on its Eurobonds and the company will pay roubles instead, according to Interfax news agency.

Russia edged closer to a potential default on its international debt on Wednesday as it set aside roubles to pay holders of international bonds that need to be repaid in dollars and said it would continue to do so as long as its foreign exchange reserves are blocked by sanctions.
