There’s plenty of restaurant chains celebrating Cinco de Mayo on Thursday, May 5, which marks a key victory of the Mexican army against the French during the Franco-Mexican War in 1862.
Almost half (44%) of consumers surveyed by Numerator said they plan to get into the Cinco de Mayo spirit this year, with eight in 10 shopping in-store to stock up for backyard barbecues and family dinners — although going out to eat and drink has also become increasingly popular. Bars and restaurants are ready to serve, especially for their rewards members. And many, many of them have margaritas on the menu.
